Els Ibarsos open door for Roberto Bautista, say he could play up front or wide | OneFootball

Els Ibarsos have responded positively to Roberto Bautista’s interest, keeping the door open for him to join while confirming there is no agreement in place. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club would welcome the former tennis player whenever he decides to come in.

Club coordinator Enric Soler said Bautista would be greeted warmly and that a spot has been reserved for him once he feels ready.

Bautista’s ties with the Castellón side stretch back years. The Benlloch native has friends in the dressing room and has previously taken part in training. Soler noted his close friendship with captain Álex González.

Soler is convinced Bautista could compete with assurance in Primera FFCV. After more than 20 years in professional sport, he feels Bautista’s physical level exceeds the league’s demands and that he still has the footballing qualities to contribute. The staff would look to use him as a forward or a winger.

The news also caught the players and head coach Javi Cuevas by surprise, as they were unaware of Bautista’s intentions. Even so, the dressing room would gladly share the pitch with an elite sportsman.
