Elye Wahi says he is more determined than ever before his Nice debut after two difficult seasons and a tough stint at Frankfurt.
Presented on Friday, the forward joins on a six-month loan from Frankfurt, according to L'Équipe. He was unveiled alongside sporting director Florian Maurice and co-presidents Jean-Pierre Rivère and Maurice Cohen.
He will make his first appearance tomorrow against Strasbourg, starting on the bench. Head coach Claude Puel said Wahi would not begin as a starter.
The former OM player said both Nice and he need to relaunch after a hard spell. He maintained fitness during the break and feels ready to play 10, 15 or 20 minutes, promising full commitment in whatever time he gets.
Maurice said Nice wanted a player who already knows Ligue 1 and has excelled there. He described Wahi as comfortable to feet, able to run in behind and, above all, capable of scoring, adding that the club are pleased with his arrival and will aim to put him in the best conditions.
