Emanuel Emegha’s move to Chelsea may be brought forward

Emanuel Emegha (22) will move to Chelsea. It is simply a question of when. It was confirmed that the Dutchman will make the move from RC Strasbourg Alsace to fellow BlueCo-owned club Chelsea at the end of the season.

The deal has elicited a strong response from the ultras at Strasbourg, who unfurled a banner calling on the centre-forward to hand back the armband in the wake of the move. Speaking after the unfurling of that banner, Liam Rosenior jumped to the defence of the “devastated” Emegha and denounced the behaviour of what he calls a small minority of Le Racing supporters.

However, is there a chance that Emegha doesn’t even see out the season at Strasbourg? Fabrizio Romano has alluded to this possibility. As per the Italian journalist, there is a chance that Emegha, currently sidelined with injury, could join the Blues as soon as the January transfer window, rather than waiting until the end of the campaign, as initially envisaged.
