After their Europa League victory away to Fenerbahce, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are back focusing on the Premier League ahead of their trip to Newcastle.
In a press conference, the Spanish coach analyzed recent transfer market movements directly involving Roma, confirming Leon Bailey’s return to Birmingham and the need to fill the void left by Donyell Malen’s departure to the capital.
Regarding Bailey’s return, Emery is pleased to be able to count on a player already integrated into his plans: “Leon is back and can help us, even quickly, because his adaptation isn’t necessary. He knows us, he arrives here fit, in excellent shape, and he’ll be available for Sunday’s match.”
The coach then discussed the deal that brought Malen to Roma, confirming the search for a new attacking addition to replace the Dutchman, who joined the Giallorossi on loan with a conditional obligation to buy: “Now, what we’re missing is Malen’s replacement. The club is working on it.”
