Aston Villa have confirmed that Ezri Konsa is facing a spell on the sidelines.

The defender suffered a knee injury during his side’s 5-0 dismantling of Sheffield United last weekend.

Unai Emery revealed on Tuesday that the extent of Konsa’s issue is expected to sideline him for up to a month.

“Ezri is injured,” confirmed Emery.

“He has a knee sprain and he is not going to be available. I don’t know, three or four weeks more or less.”

Villa will be aiming to book an FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Leeds or Plymouth Argyle if they overcome Chelsea in Wednesday’s replay.
