Emery hoping for ‘solution’ for Aston Villa man | OneFootball

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery says he is hoping to find a solution to Harvey Elliott’s lack of game time at the club.

Elliott is on loan at Villa from Liverpool but has not featured since October.

He has again not travelled with the group for the Europa League game against FC Basel and discussing Elliott’s situation, Emery said: “We are speaking with him.

“He’s not here with us. Hopefully we can get the best for him and for us as well.

“Of course I respect him a lot as a player and as a person.

“But there are circumstances with him and hopefully we can get a solution for him to try to play consistently, to try to continue his career with us together or not.

“I spoke to him two or three times about the situation we have with him. Firstly, my decision is a sport decision and secondly, he’s on loan playing with us. He’s not definite to move to us with a permanent contract.”
