Unai Emery hailed the mentality of his Aston Villa players after their comeback win over West Ham.
Villa twice trailed in the game before equalising through an own goal and then a Morgan Rogers strike, before the attacker put his side in front with his second goal with just over ten minutes remaining.
The win sees Villa stay three points off league leaders Arsenal and means they have won nine in a row in all competitions.
“Thankful for our supporters,” Villa head coach Emery said on the victory. “They are with us here today, a lot of supporters. And, of course, we felt it, how they are pushing us to get a victory, a new victory.
“Of course, we struggled, we started the day poor, like the season, but we reacted like the season: fantastic.
“The players, they are protagonists, and of course, after, how we can feel strong in our structure, tactically, feel comfortable each one with their task. Then try to show their qualities.
“But after, to get our structure strong, tactically, discipline, and then play football, of course, how we are in our mentality as well, responding when we are losing, like today.
“We started two times, we were behind in the result, how we came back, in that moment, those goals, I think, is fantastic, because we were getting balance, even losing, and keeping our gameplan, like we planned before the match.”
