Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Nicolas Jackson as the club prepare to receive a record fee for Morgan Rogers.
Aston Villa have accepted a £117m offer for Rogers fromChelsea, in a transfer that will make the 23-year-old the most expensive English footballer of all time.
Rogers' exit is another blow toUnai Emery as Villa prepare to return to the Champions League next season, following Youri Tielemans' move to Manchester United. However, the record fee will allow Villa to reinvest, with Jackson in their sights.
The 25-year-old has returned to Chelsea after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich. Jackson scored 11 goals in 34 games as Bayern won a German double, but the Bundesliga side opted against making the transfer permanent.
Chelsea are now assessing Jackson's future, following a change in head coach at Stamford Bridge.
According toFabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have internally discussed an approach for Jackson, with Emery having worked with the Senegal international at former club Villarreal. Emery is a big fan of the forward, who can also operate from the left-hand side.
Villa are also understood to be monitoring West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye as the club look to reinvest their imminent windfall.
