Aston Villa are seeking a fresh exit route for Emi Martinez after Juventus ended talks, leaving the Argentina international's future unresolved.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Martinez had been in discussions over a move to Juventus. Villa pressed on with a £30million deal for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who will undergo a medical at Bodymoor Heath on Monday.
Juventus were unable to agree a fee with Villa, so Martinez's exit is on hold. They have instead agreed a season-long loan with Tottenham for Guglielmo Vicario, leaving Villa's No.1 in limbo.
The 33-year-old has been Villa's first-choice for six years and previously drew interest from Saudi Arabia. Whether that is revived remains unclear.
With Suzuki's arrival imminent, the onus is on Villa to move Martinez off the wage bill. They are also close to sealing the signing of left-back Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid.
