RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg believes Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga would be a good fit for the Bundesliga club.
Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, translated via Kicker, Elanga said: “I’ll sit down with Oliver [Mintzlaff] and see what we’re going to do,” before adding that “Anthony would be a good fit for us,” and he’s “a young player who wants to get even better.”
Oliver Mintzlaff is the managing director at Red Bull but is still chairman of the supervisory board at Leipzig, after being the club’s CEO. It was reported last week that RB Leipzig are currently holding talks with Elanga, who would seemingly be open to leaving United in the summer.
11 of Elanga’s 16 Premier League games last season came as a substitute and according to reports in England, Manchester United would also allow Elanga to leave the club, despite a contract until 2026.
Since making his Manchester United debut in 2021, Elanga has played 55 games across all competitions for the Premier League club, scoring four and creating four.
Forsberg is currently on international duty with Elanga. Sweden will play against New Zealand on Friday before travelling to Austria.
