Emily Lima’s debut struggles continue as Corinthians fall 3-2 to Palmeiras

Emily Lima’s tough run in debuts continued as Corinthians lost 3-2 to Palmeiras on Friday, her first game in charge of the Brabas.
According to Meu Timao, since 2015 she has led seven sides. Across those debuts she has one win, one draw and five defeats, a 19.05 percent return.
The sequence began at São José in early 2015. Her debut on four February ended in a 3-1 loss to Kindermann at Estádio Martins Pereira in the Copa do Brasil Feminina last 16.
In 2016 she became the first woman to coach Brazil’s senior women. On seven December at the Torneio Internacional de Manaus, Brazil beat Costa Rica 6-0 at Arena da Amazônia.
She joined Santos for 2018, starting on 24 March in the Campeonato Paulista Feminino with a 1-1 draw against former club São José.
In 2020 she took Ecuador, debuting on 27 November in a friendly at Morumbi, where they lost 6-0 to Brazil.
In 2023 she led Peru while also overseeing youth teams. The first senior game, on 14 July against Argentina at Estadio Único de San Nicolás, ended 4-0 to Argentina.
Her last job before Corinthians was Levante in 2025, debuting on 30 August in Liga F with a 2-1 home loss to Granada.
Corinthians return on 23 to face América-MG at 21:00, venue to be confirmed, in round four of the Brasileirão Feminino.
