Marseille and Ajax are on their way to producing another Europa League classic already.
The two Group B sides played out a scintillating 3-3 draw in the opening round of play back in September, and two early goals at the Stade Vélodrome have reignited the matchup.
Ajax’s woes appeared to be continuing when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired home from the spot in the opening 10 minutes, sending Marseille into first place in the group according to the live standings.
But the Dutch side responded well, taking the ball from the kickoff and working it all the way through the Marseille rearguard before Brian Brobbey fired home to reclaim parity.
Marseille found the lead once again in the 26th minute, but of course, Ajax responded in just four minutes as Brobbey scored his second of the night to erase Marseille’s lead all over again.
Are we watching another classic from these two classic European giants unfold before our very eyes!?
