Empoli are closing in on an agreement with Chelsea over a permanent deal for midfielder Tino Anjorin, according to reports on Saturday evening.
In fact, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is practcically done with the West Londoners. Empoli will sign Anjorin on a permanent transfer.
Though a specific transfer fee has not yet been disclosed, it is understood that Chelsea will retain a 50% sell-on clause for the 22-year-old. The intervention of Emopli sporting director Roberto Gemmi was reportedly key in getting the deal over the line.
Anjorin has just one Premier League appearance to his name with Chelsea, but made a resoundingly positive impression while playing Premier League 2 football, England’s elite youth development league. There, he scored eight goals from 11 appearances.
He has also gained experience at senior level over the past few seasons, having been sent out on loan to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2021-22, to Huddersfield Town in the championship in 2022-23 and to League One champions Portsmouth in 2023-24.
