Strasbourg lead the French top flight’s matchday 19 team of the week after their 4-1 win at Lille. According to L'Équipe, Endrick makes his first inclusion following Lyon’s 5-2 victory at Metz, where he hit a hat-trick.
New coach Gary O’Neil had reason to be pleased as Strasbourg supplied three selections. Martial Godo scored twice, Enciso added a goal and an assist, and full-back Guéla Doué registered an assist. They are now unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions.
Two Lyon players were also included. On loan from Real Madrid, Endrick opened the scoring with a dink, then finished a 50-metre surge to beat Fischer again, before converting a penalty he had won. Tyler Morton, Lyon’s organiser, struck a fine goal and also provided an assist.
After a round with three picks, Toulouse add two more thanks to a 2-0 win at Brest. Strasbourg loanee Demba Diop scored and assisted, while captain Rasmus Nicolaisen impressed with 10 clearances. Nice rounded off a good week by winning 4-1 at Nantes after a 1-5 defeat at Toulouse and a European victory, with Mohamed-Ali Cho scoring twice.
Marseille beat Lens 3-1 and a former Sang et Or, Facundo Medina, hurt his old club with six ball recoveries. Lorient showed control in a 2-0 derby win at Rennes, led by defender Montassar Talbi. Auxerre lost 0-1 to PSG, goalkeeper Donovan Léon made seven saves against the European champions before Bradley Barcola’s strike returned them to the top of the table.
