Will Mbappé one day get to 13, or even 14?

Here's a look at England with their medals.

What they said.

Brotherhood.

Here's a look at just how good Mbappé was throughout the tournament.

Sign the Guinness Book and take a bow, Michael! He's gone beyond Pele's achievement.

Here are the other Englishmen who scored a hat-trick on the big stage.

Half-fit Saka was magnificent.

And it's also a best-ever finish for England.

That last goal means Bellingham scored the most-ever goals in a single World Cup by an Englishman (seven). Reminder, he's a midfielder.

FULL-TIME

And there you have it. The Three Lions finish third after a stunning 10-goal game in Miami.

GOAL! France 4-6 England

It's a brilliant run from Bellingham, who gathers the ball in the centre circle, and the confidence carries him all the way before he finds the bottom of the right side of the net.

But waaaaaaaait

It's a history-matching moment, too. The highest-scoring World Cup third-place match also saw nine goals. Wow.

GOAL! France 4-5 England

Poor ball from Rice eventually sees the ball fall to Dembélé and last year's Ballon d'Or winner curls it into the far corner.

And they've found another!!!

Dembélé and Mbappé desperate to have another chance here and really pull France over the line.

We have seven minutes of added time now.

Some moment for the Gunner.

It's only the fourth time an England player has scored a hat-trick at the World Cup.

GOAL! France 3-5 England

It's a historic World Cup for Saka, who was reportedly struggling with an injury prior to this game. Some way to bounce back.

Bellingham with the ball... and he hands it off to Saka.

PENALTY!

All of France's work undone, perhaps? Gusto takes down Spence in the box and England have a chance to make it five from the spot.

Where's big Dan Burn?!

A reminder that England led up until the 86th minute against Argentina in the semi-final. So who knows what can happen here as we enter the final frames.

Substitutions for England. Bellingham and Anderson are on. The Madrid man almost restores a two-goal lead with his first touch!

Here's a look at how the Frenchman has scored at the World Cup throughout his career.

Mbappe hunting for a hat-trick here. He already has two goals and one assist.

Hydration break is over and done with. France have 15 minutes to find a way to turn this all around.

Mbappe with more and more history. He's now the World Cup's all-time leading goal scorer.

GOAL! France 3-4 England

Game on! Mbappe strides through into the box after being left unmarked outside of it and makes no mistake to find the bottom left corner.

Henderson, we have to say, is having one hell of a game today in place of Pickford.

CHANCE!

Dembele again misses a key opportunity. Mbappe picks out his colleague in the box but he can't get enough power behind his swing and Henderson saves easily.

We've just crossed the hour mark here in Miami.

What a tournament and what an overall season for Olise. No wonder Real Madrid want him.

England have tried to show they're still in control, however, with a few flashes of attacking presence down the left flank.

That said, it's largely France's game right now.

CHANCE

Dembele almost, almost (!!!) had France's third goal all before the 60 minute mark but Henderson comes up big and the follow up effort curls over the bar.

There is too much going on admin can't keep up.

GOAL! France 2-4 England

Oh wow. It's cut in half in the blink of an eye. It's substitute Barcola who comes in and scores the second on the left side of the box. Are England panicking?!

CHANCE!

It could have been a stunning fifth for England, as Eze breaks away from three defenders. But he opts to chip the keeper and it falls very, very wide.

He's the first to hit that figure in a single World Cup since Gerd Müller.

That, of course, means Mbappé leads the Golden Boot race with nine goals in the 2026 tournament.

Dynamic duo for Les Bleus.

GOAL! France 1-4 England

And now they have their goal. It's Olise who links up with Mbappé and he makes no mistake in the box to get at least one on the board. Game on.

This already feels like much more intent from France off the hop in the second half.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY

Let's see what kind of drama the second 45 minutes brings.

Substitutions are coming in now. Barcola and Dembélé are on for France. Watkins comes in for Rashford on the England side, too.

Some showing! Buckle up for another 45 to come.

All the numbers for you here so far.

Stat crunch. Before this, France had NEVER conceded four goals in the first half at any major tournament.

HALF-TIME: France 0-4 England

Um, talk about one-way traffic. England's reserves have a clear point to prove after a poor performance against Argentina. Meanwhile, we're unsure where France are.

Poor Deschamps, who is managing his final France match tonight. Not that parting gift he would have wanted (nor deserved).

A reminder of how influential Rashford's been during the summer for the Three Lions.

Even Jude Bellingham is up on his feet here!

GOAL! France 0-4 England

That's a brace for Saka, who beats Hernandez for pace and finds the bottom right corner beyond a diving Maignan. Wow.

Holy. Smokes.

We have four additional minutes now on the clock.

Deschamps may have started Mbappé to try and get him level in the Golden Boot standings, but we won't see him play the full 90 minutes at this rate, surely?

Saka's goal goes down at the 300th in the 2026 World Cup. What a show fans have been given this summer!

What a night for Arsenal!

GOAL! France 0-3 England

Wow, we have a third in Miami. This time it is another Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka, who gets on the scoresheet.

Maignan was forced off his line and found himself in no-man's land after a brilliant counter-attack. He initially stifles any attempts, but the ball falls to Saka, who makes no mistake in front of an empty net.

CHANCE!

Now, at the other end, it's France, Mbappé again. However, it's a Henderson save, once again. We're somewhat puzzled as to how he didn't put that attempt away.

CHANCE!

It's Rashford with a belter of a shot from distance. He deeks Zaïre-Emery and then looks up to have a go as the ball dips down, but Maignan handles it comfortably.

We've had 30 minutes played here in Miami. England sit 2-0 up over France.

Here's how close Mbappé was...

Stat update for all you nerds out there (us). 📊

This is the first time Les Bleus have conceded twice in the first 20 minutes of a World Cup match.

CHANCE!

France looking to push Mbappé up the World Cup scoring charts. He splits two defenders inside the box but scuffs his shot as Henderson comes rushing out.

We're done the hydration break now and players are entering the pitch again.

CHANCE!

Mbappé is given a lot of time and space to line up his options, and he sends a long ball just beyond the right post in an attempt to cut the deficit in half.

Will this man have his say in changing the mood for France?

That's just a second international goal for Konsa. Not too shabby to add the World Cup to your resume.

GOAL! France 0-2 England

It's Mr. Captain again, but it's an assist this time as the ball finds the head of Konsa whose backhead flick nestles into the bottom corner. France stunned here!

Roaring early!

Doué is now getting involved, but his crossing efforts are blocked by Guéhi.

Now, at the other end, it's Olise and Mbappé trying to connect in the box, but the England defence picks the ball away easily.

GOAL RULED OFFSIDE

Saka is sent down the right side of the box, cuts back and finds the bottom left corner, but it's correctly ruled out after his early run.

France are springing to life now! Cherki with a through strike on goal, but Henderson is there to save it.

It's a first World Cup goal for Rice.

Who said the third place game would be boring?

France tried to create something down the left wing immediately after conceding, but fell short. Rashford then almost doubled things in the blink of an eye.

That's the first shot on target, obviously! Three Lions playing with intent.

GOAL! France 0-1 England

After just two minutes, it's the captain who breaks the deadlock. Rice picks off the ball, strides forward and curls home from outside the box.

KICK-OFF

And we're underway for third place! It's England and France on the pitch.

Tada!!!!!

We're about five minutes away from kick-off. Who do you have claiming third place? Let us know in the comments below.

Just Bayern things.

Another update from inside the stadium.

Meanwhile, the FFF President confirmed the next manager will be confirmed later this month.

Media reports suggest it's the one and only, Zinedine Zidane.

Mbappe will be looking to add to his goal tally. The Real Madrid man is currently at eight, tied with Argentina's Lionel Messi, who plays tomorrow in the final.

Players starting to head to the pitch now.

Awkward.

And while Manchester United fans hit a blow, there's a little boost for Arsenal ones!

In case you missed it, starter Rogers will be swapping clubs once this summer is over.

We'll see you in just over an hour for kickoff, but keep checking back here for the latest.

Les Bleus also only see four names return from the semi-final loss to Spain: Maignan, Rabiot, Olise and Mbappe.

And here is who Deschamps has selected for France.

Meanwhile, some upsetting news for Manchester United fans as Mianoo misses out entirely.

Only Rice, Guehi, Rogers and Spence return to the starting XI following the semi-final loss to Argentina.

Here is who comes in for the Three Lions. Plenty of changes for England.

Here's a look at what happened the last time these two met at the World Cup.

Ahead of kick-off, the teams will name their starting line-ups soon.

Who might earn a nod from Thomas Tuchel and Didier Deschamps?

Don't miss a minute!

We're back for some more World Cup action today, as England and France battle it out for third in the 2026 edition of the tournament.
