In an interview with the Portuguese outlet Canal 11, Bruno Fernandes broke his silence about the behind-the-scenes drama of his most recent transfer window at Manchester United, dropping explosive statements. Fernandes didn’t mince his words when speaking about the Red Devils' management, and his comments could spark a real earthquake at the club.

"Manchester United wanted me to leave, I have that in my head," he stated candidly. According to him, United’s board was ready to cash in a huge €100 million cheque: "I think they didn’t have the courage because Ruben Amorim wanted me here, but on the club’s side, I felt that if I left, it wouldn’t be so bad for them."

Beyond the numbers, it’s the lack of recognition that weighs most heavily on Fernandes. He claims to have consulted Cristiano Ronaldo before making his decision, and he regrets that his commitment is no longer valued as it once was. "The question of loyalty isn’t seen the same way as before," he laments, subtly pointing at certain teammates he feels are less invested in the project: "Then you see what's happening around you, players who don’t care as much about the club and don’t defend it the same way... it makes you sad."

A leader for the Red Devils since his arrival in 2020, the Portuguese international has always embodied resilience at a club in the midst of crisis.
