The one negative from England’s crucial win over Panama
England have been dealt a new blow after Jarell Quansah was forced off with an ankle injury during the win against Panama.
Quansah was handed a place in the England starting line-up on Saturday as Thomas Tuchel opted to make five changes from the goalless draw with Ghana.
Of those changes, one was enforced as Reece James was ruled out of the final Group L encounter.
James is awaiting the results of a scan on a hamstring injury that forced him to be assessed after England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana.
Quansah received treatment from the England medical staff before getting back to his feet and was then replaced by Djed Spence.
Tuchel has since provided an update on the Bayer Leverkusen defender, confirming he is now a doubt for the round of 32 clash in Atlanta on July 1.
"Classic ankle twist and he is in pain," Tuchel said in the post-match press conference.
"He said he had it before and it is a matter of days. He has his leg up high and in ice."

Quansah’s injury, coupled with James being likely to miss the last-32 clash leaves England short of options at right-back, with Djed Spence the only other natural option.
“Naturally of course we have another injury in the position,” Tuchel added.
“It will be a tight race for Reece James and a tight race for Jarell Quansah but it is our job to find solutions and we will do.”
Bukayo Saka started the game but was withdrawn seconds after providing the assist for Jude Bellingham to open the scoring against Panama, while Declan Rice was an unused substitute.
“Bukayo’s not a problem,” Tuchel added. “Declan, had the chance to take him completely off the match, to not do not concede a second yellow, which helps us a lot.”
