France edge out Switzerland to stay level on points with England

France survived a late scare to see out a 2-1 win over group rivals Sweden.

A goal in the first half from Sakina Karchaoui had put Les Bleues ahead, but Sweden found the equaliser through Josefine Rybrink.

Finding themselves ahead with 15 minutes to go thanks to Marie-Antoinette, France just about came away with the win when Sweden hit the woodwork in the final seconds of the game.

This result means England need just one point against Sweden to qualify for the competition.

England deliver professional performance in Ireland win

Scorers: Russo 5', Stanway 57'(PEN); Russell 90+4

England pulled off a 2-0 win over Ireland at Carrow Road with an early goal from Alessia Russo and a penalty slammed home by Georgia Stanway.

Scoring after just five minutes, it seemed like the Lionesses might rack up a big scoreline, but Ireland 'stopper Courtney Brosnan pulled off some big saves to keep them out.

Stanway's penalty extended England's lead, and Ireland had their consolation with almost the last kick of the game through Julie-Ann Russell.

Miedema unlucky as Italy hold Netherlands

Viv Miedema hit the woodwork as Netherlands and Italy cancelled each other out at the Fortuna Sittard Stadion.

Agnese Bonfantini was sent off for a second yellow card in stoppage time.

The point helps the Oranje to stay at the top of the group, while Italy are tied with Norway in second place.

Wales pull off comprehensive win over Croatia

Scorers: Fishlock 14', Ingle 65', Barton 89' (PEN)

Wales romped to a 3-0 win over Croatia, with a late penalty finishing off a successful evening for Rhian Wilkinson.

Jess Fishlock had opened the scoring with a wicked effort hit just under the crossbar, before Kayleigh Barton had a goal ruled out for offside.

The second was bundled home by Sophie Ingle on her 140th cap for Wales, and just before full-time the Welsh side were awarded a penalty which was converted by Barton.

The result guarantees that Wales top their EURO 2025 qualifying group.

Scotland win in rain soaked Slovakia

Scorers: Emslie 46', 71'

Claire Emslie was the difference maker for Scotland as she registered a brace in Scotland's 2-0 win over Slovakia.

Sliding in at the far post to score the opener, the match was then suspended due to heavy rain.

After the restart Emslie took advantage of a big defensive error to double Scotland's lead.

Pedro Martínez Losa's side sit top of their group after that victory.

Bosnia-Herzegovina hold Portugal to stalemate

Portugal remain top of Group B3 after a goalless draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

An uneventful game at the Stadion Bilino Polje saw the sides labour through a game between first and second place in the table.

Czech Republic pull off shock win over Spain

Scorers: Svikková 44', Bartonova 51'; Bonmatí 15'

Spain lost their first EURO 2025 qualifying match as Czech Republic pulled off a shock 2-1 win.

It looked like business as usual for Spain as Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmatí lofted a shot from the corner of the 18-yard box straight into the back of the net.

Yet just before the half-time whistle blew, Czech Republic were level as Katerina Svitková finished from close range into the bottom corner.

Into the second half and Franny Cerná was fouled in the box by Spain 'keeper Misa Rodríguez and Eva Bartonová made no mistake with the spot-kick.

On 70 minutes, Irene Paredes was shown the red card for what looked to be a kick in the face to Svitková, and that expulsion capped off an unusual off night for the Spain side.

Iceland ramp up the pressure with Germany rout

Scorers:  Sigurðardóttir 14', Jóhannsdóttir 52', Jónsdóttir 83'

The second surprise result of the evening came when Iceland pulled off a 3-0 win over Germany.

Goals from Ingibjörg Sigurðardóttir, Fiorentina's Alexandra Jóhannsdóttir and Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir of Wolfsburg saw the Icelandic side close the gap to Germany in the group to just two points.

This was Horst Hrubesch's side's first defeat in these qualifiers, having won all of the other four group matches so far.
