Senegal outplayed England at the City Ground and the Three Lions suffered their first-ever defeat to African opponents.

The Netherlands routed Malta in World Cup qualifying as Memphis Depay and Donyell Malen starred.

Republic of Ireland couldn't find a way past Luxembourg in a game of few chances, while Northern Ireland just about got over the line to beat Iceland 1-0 thanks to Isaac Price's first-half goal.
