The Three Lions were relentless from the outset, with Gordon providing an early breakthrough. Kane then took control, scoring his 76th international goal before adding another to complete his brace. Saka added a fourth before Eze capped the rout with a well-taken strike off the bench.

This attacking masterclass was underpinned by a solid defensive display, with Jordan Pickford recording his ninth consecutive clean sheet for his country.

Here is how the individual performances rated in Riga:

England Player Ratings vs Latvia

Goalkeeper & Defence

Jordan Pickford (GK) – 6.5/10: He remained alert to make two key stops after half-time and secured a commendable ninth clean sheet in a row for his country.

Djed Spence (RB) – 7/10: Continues to look incredibly comfortable on the international stage. While bigger challenges await, he has seamlessly adapted to this level.

John Stones (CB) – 7/10: The minutes were invaluable for the Man City stalwart after a busy week. He showed his class and reaffirmed why he is an automatic starter when available.

Ezri Konsa (CB) – 7/10: Vindicated Tuchel’s decision to start him over Guéhi with a flawless defensive display. In fact, his superb last-ditch tackle in the second half was the highlight of a very composed performance.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (LB) – 6/10: While he showed some typical signs of rust, the Arsenal youngster still used his opportunity to deliver a clean and solid defensive performance.

Midfield

Elliot Anderson (CM) – 7/10: He is quickly making himself indispensable in England’s midfield. Indeed, Tuchel’s preferred choice plays with an authority that belies his experience, and his understanding with Rice continues to be a major team strength.

Declan Rice (CM) – 7/10: Thrived once again in a more advanced box-to-box role and showcased the attacking dimension he has added to his game. His evolution into a complete midfielder continues at a pace.

Morgan Rogers (AM) – 6/10: After his stellar displays against Serbia and Wales, this was a much quieter outing. Unfortunately, he struggled to impose himself on the game, leaving the door open for his rivals for the No. 10 jersey.

Forwards

Bukayo Saka (RW) – 7.5/10: Followed up his goal against Wales with another creative performance, laying on an assist for a teammate. Overall, the Arsenal star looks to be back to his best after a spell of injuries.

Harry Kane (ST) – 8/10 (Man of the Match): The captain’s sensational season continues. He was clinical in front of goal to net his 76th for England and led the attack with intelligence. Ultimately, it was an utterly commanding display.

Anthony Gordon (LW) – 7.5/10: Provided the crucial early breakthrough with an instinctive, sharp finish. In doing so, he capped off a very successful international break where he has proven his value to the squad.

Substitutes

  • Jordan Henderson (for Rice, 60′) – 6/10: Brought on to manage the game and kept possession ticking over smoothly.
  • Eberechi Eze (for Rogers, 60′) – 7/10: Injected creativity and dynamism, looking a constant threat and grabbing a deserved goal.
  • Jarrod Bowen (for Saka, 60′) – 6/10: A typically industrious shift, though he knows he faces a battle for his place.
  • Dan Burn (for Stones, 71′) – 6/10: Introduced to see the game out and was untroubled, predictably winning his aerial duels.
  • Marcus Rashford (for Gordon, 71′) – 6/10: Showcased his pace with one memorable run but had little time to make a decisive impact.
