The fixture will be the 105th meeting between the sides, with their most recent encounter coming during the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
The Football Association (FA) has also confirmed another friendly fixture for the Three Lions as they take on Senegal at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground on June 10.
This historic match will be the first senior England men’s international held at the venue since 1909, adding a special significance to the occasion.
The friendlies are part of England’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which remains the primary focus of their international calendar.
Newly appointed England manager Thomas Tuchel expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming fixtures.
“The games against Senegal and Wales will present good challenges for us against two very different opponents,” Tuchel said.
“Facing a strong African team in a passionate city with rich football heritage and then a derby match at the iconic Wembley – two big occasions that can only help us on the road to the World Cup.”
Tuchel also stressed the importance of spreading England’s matches beyond the capital, acknowledging the significance of playing at historic venues such as the City Ground.
England will travel to Andorra in September as the FA looks to diversify match locations.
Meanwhile, Wales have also finalised another friendly. Craig Bellamy’s squad will take on Canada in Swansea on September 9.
Wales will begin their World Cup qualification campaign at home against Kazakhstan on March 22, while Tuchel’s England tenure kicks off a day earlier against Albania at Wembley.
