Bethany England has been nominated for Barclays Women’s Super league Player of the Month award for September.

The nomination comes after our captain has registered two goal involvements in the month, scoring once and registering an assist to help us pick up four points in our opening two games of the WSL campaign.

Our number nine turned provider in our 4-0 victory over league newcomers Crystal Palace after a lovely flick around her defender saw the ball fall to Drew Spence and she fired a low-drilled effort into the bottom corner for our third of the afternoon.

Then, in our first away game of the season, Bethany came off the bench and stepped up with an important goal in her Spurs career as, in the sixth-minute of injury-time, she headed home a late, late equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
