Just hours after extending his contract with England, Thomas Tuchel explains his decision.

On Thursday, Thomas Tuchel officially signed a new deal as England manager, keeping him in charge until Euro 2028. Given the trust shown by the English Football Association, the German tactician was quick to accept.

"I am very happy and proud to extend my contract with England. It's no secret: I've loved every minute so far working with my players and staff, and I can't wait to lead them to the World Cup. This is an incredible opportunity and we will do everything we can to make our country proud. I've received so much support from Mark (Bullingham, editor's note), from the FA, and from fans everywhere I go that I didn't hesitate when I was asked to continue in this dream job. Euro 2028 will be a very special tournament and, as a manager, there's nothing greater than competing against the best on the biggest stage possible,"

the German coach said in a statement.
