England and Greece will both be looking to build on two opening Nations League victories at 19:45 on Thursday 10th October at Wembley Stadium in London. The game will be shown live on ITV1.

England interim manager Lee Carsley could have hardly got off to a better start to his quest to be Gareth Southgate’s permanent replacement after wins over the Republic of Ireland and Finland, but Greece could offer a tougher test for the Three Lions..

The visitors have been embarking on their own new era and they have made a strong start to life under Ivan Jovanovic, who has seen his team beat Finland 3-0 at home before, like England, claiming a 2-0 victory in Dublin.

Those results should have given the squad a big lift after they were beaten by Georgia in a play-off which cost them a place in last summer’s European Championship finals in Germany.

However, with England captain Harry Kane scoring both goals in their win over Finland, Carsley’s side will be full of beans themselves, particularly with more of their stars available than there were for their games in September.

England vs Greece Betting Offer

For this UEFA Nations League clash, bookmaker Parimatch are offering a huge 40/1 on England to win the game. Here’s how you can claim that massive enhanced price:

England vs Greece Team News

Carsley said when he was named as Southgate’s temporary successor that he would not be making ‘copy and paste’ selections and England fans can expect to see a few changes after their opening two wins.

One player who looks highly likely to start is Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who found himself as a player on the fringes under the new manager’s predecessor, making five substitute appearances at the Euros and scoring England’s goal in the 2-1 final defeat to Spain.

Jack Grealish, who played in the number 10 role in the win against Finland, could make way while his Manchester City teammate Phil Foden and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham will also look to be utilised in that role.

Manchester United’s Harry Maguire is not available and it looks likely that John Stones and Marc Guehi will be England’s central-defensive partnership as Ezri Konsa suffered a hamstring injury in Aston Villa’s goalless draw against the Red Devils on Sunday.

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has also received his first call-up for seven years.

Jovanovic should have the opportunity to make few changes from the team that beat Ireland, even though Greece have failed to score in six of their last nine games against England.

Striker Fofis Ioannidis has been unable to open his domestic league account for Panathinaikos this season, but he scored twice against Finland and also netted in Dublin, so he looks like the man to watch.
