The 6.1 magnitude quake in Orlando reportedly saw buildings evacuated.

The Three Lions are set to play Costa Rica in the Florida city tomorrow in their last friendly before the World Cup begins.

Local media has not reported any serious damage or injuries, but many buildings were shaken in the tremors.

Shockwaves reverberated from the epicentre just off the western coast of Cuba.

Holiday resorts including Cancun and Tulum in Mexico and Disney World in Orlando also felt tremors from the earthquake.

Although there are not yet reports of significant damage, it is the strongest earthquake to hit the region since 1880, when a 6.0 magnitude quake was recorded in Cuba.

Videos shared on social media showed houses shaking as the earthquake hit on Monday.

Floridian firefighters said there was no need for alarm, while the US National Tsunami Warning Centre added that there was no danger of a tsunami.

Following their clash with Costa Rica, the England team will travel to their main World Cup base at the home of Sporting Kansas City in Missouri.

England have been in Florida for a week, and beat New Zealand in Tampa on Saturday in their first of two warm-up friendlies ahead of their opening game.

Harry Kane scored the only goal in an unimpressive 1-0 win, and head coach Thomas Tuchel spoke afterwards at his displeasure at his players’ “freestyle” approach to the game in the first half, before improving after the break.

The team will begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17 before playing Ghana on June 23 and finishing the group stage with a match against Panama on June 27.
