Bellingham is back in the squad but Thomas Tuchel has said the Real Madrid midfielder is in a fight with Morgan Rodgers to be England No10 ahead of the World Cup.

It remains to be seen if Bellingham or Rodgers will start against Serbia but Tuchel says he will keep much of the “structure” of his team the same.

Tuchel has Bellingham and Phil Foden back available to him after both were missing in September and October, but he may opt not to start either against Serbia when he is expected to set England up in his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

Rogers has made his case to be England’s No10 and Tuchel may feel moved to keep faith with the Aston Villa man after saying on Wednesday that he will not make dramatic changes to the side.

Tuchel said of picking between Rogers or Bellingham at No10: “At the moment the competition is between the two of them. They are friends, so it can also be a friendly competition.”

Tuchel’s two deep-lying midfielders have been Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson in the past two months and that is likely to remain the case.

The England manager is without Marc Guehi, who will remain with the squad but won’t face Serbia due to a bruised ankle.

Nick Pope and Anthony Gordon of Newcastle have both left the squad through injury, with James Trafford and Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah replacing them in the group on Tuesday.

Ezri Konsa spoke to the media in Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, indicating he will likely start the game.
