Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has officially unveiled his election manifesto ahead of the club’s upcoming presidential elections on June 7.

He has presented an ambitious project designed to challenge the long-standing leadership of Florentino Perez.

The businessman introduced his plans during a presentation, outlining a wide range of structural, sporting and supporter-focused reforms that he hopes will convince club members to back his candidacy.

What was mentioned?

At the centre of Riquelme’s proposal is a major expansion project for Valdebebas, which he has labelled the “City of Members”.

The idea focuses heavily on increasing facilities and services designed specifically for Real Madrid members.

The expansion would include a new social club, a hotel for members, an aquatic centre, additional football pitches and new padel courts.

Riquelme also wants to significantly improve the current sports facilities surrounding Real Madrid’s training complex.

One of the most eye-catching ideas involves the construction of a brand-new arena for the basketball section and major entertainment events.

The proposed venue would hold around 15,000 spectators and could also be used for concerts and large-scale events.

At the same time, the presidential candidate wants to increase the capacity of the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano to 20,000 spectators, something that would directly benefit the club’s women’s team as well.

Riquelme even suggested that the women’s side could eventually play matches at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium more regularly in the future.

Promises major reforms for the members

A huge part of Riquelme’s campaign is focused on strengthening the role of Real Madrid members within the club’s structure.

The candidate promised to guarantee that Real Madrid would always remain fully owned by its members, while also proposing a dramatic reduction in membership fees.

According to his manifesto, fees would be reduced by 50% until the club wins the Champions League again.

He also pledged to introduce a more transparent system for season ticket access through a public waiting list, something many supporters have requested for years.

Away supporters are another major focus within his plans. Riquelme wants to create a dedicated travel agency for fans travelling to away matches while also reducing prices for supporters.

Furthermore, the presidential candidate proposed creating new audiovisual content formats and digital platforms to improve communication between the club and supporters worldwide.

Supporters’ clubs would also receive increased attention under his plans, with proposals including international fan meetings, a renewed Supporters’ Clubs Day and the return of the General Assembly of Supporters’ Clubs.
