Enzo Maresca has revealed he’s very proud and privileged to work with Cole Palmer as the Blues prepare to face Brentford on Sunday.
Chelsea continued their strong to the season with victory over Tottenham last Sunday, with the Blues now four points behind leaders Liverpool, and two points ahead of Arsenal in third.
The Blues have lost just two of their opening 15 games and are also the highest scorers in the league with 35 goals already.
Maresca has done a brilliant job so far, with Gary Neville impressed by the impact the Italian has had, and he’s been able to instil a style of play and an identity very quickly.
The Blues are exciting to watch and whilst many players have contributed Palmer is still the jewel in the Chelsea crown and the one who gets spoken about most.
The 22-year-old had an exceptional campaign last season following his move from Manchester City and took the league by storm as he was named Premier League Young Player of the Year.

Palmer has very much continued that form this season and already has 11 goals and six assists, including an audacious Panenka penalty against Spurs, with Maresca describing him as not a normal player.
There’s so much talent in the Chelsea squad and it must be a dream to manage such a talented group, but Maresca admitted he’s particularly proud to work with Palmer.
“I feel very proud and privileged to work with Cole,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“I feel lucky to work with all of them, to be honest. Cole is a different one to the rest but here we have many good players where the head coach, in this case me, would feel happy and proud to work with them.”
Having gone three games without a goal contribution Palmer has now scored four in his last three and will be looking to score for the fourth league game in a row this weekend.
