Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has named a Chelsea player who is “already one of the best young players in the world.”

And to be honest, there aren’t too many people who will be disagreeing with this statement, because he has taken the Premier League by storm this lad.

Estevao Willian is still only 18-years-old and he has arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer with the weight of the world on his shoulders, but he’s really not looked like a player who has played like that.

He’s been playing with confidence and a swagger of a player who has been playing for years in this league, which as we know, is a hugely tough league to play in.

Estevao has been injured lately, but he will be back in the Chelsea squad for Saturday’s match against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

And Blues boss Maresca, has been full of praise for him.

In today’s pre-match press conference for Aston Villa, Maresca was asked, ‘Can Estevao become one of the best in the world?’

He replied: “I think he’s already one of the best young players in the world, but he needs to continue to improve; he needs to work hard. But for sure if he does that, he can be one of the top players in the future.”

Big compliments

Estevao is obviously still a player who is developing, but he is developing very well and although he is still going to make mistakes whilst he is learning his trade, he seems to have a super strong mentality and a lot of belief in his own ability – this will see him go far.
