Enzo Monteiro ends Chungbuk Cheongju loan and returns to Santos | OneFootball

Enzo Monteiro has ended his loan at Chungbuk Cheongju in South Korea and returned to Santos. According to Diario Do Peixe, he fell out of favour after a coaching change and had not played in recent K-League 2 games, while his wife recently gave birth and the family sought to be in the Baixada Santista.

The deal had been due to run until December, so the termination was brought forward. Interest from Eastern Europe and Brazilian Série B clubs during the window did not progress.

Because any recall needed to happen within the transfer window for Brasileirão registration, he cannot now be listed. He is expected to train separately at CT Rei Pelé and might not even be assessed by head coach Cuca. For the run-in he will continue training as 2027 planning is revisited.

Monteiro is under contract with Santos until December 2027. A regular with Bolivia, he has played in South American World Cup qualifiers and the play-offs for the 2026 tournament.

This season he made nine appearances for Cheongju, seven in the K-League 2 and two in the Korea Cup. Last year he was on loan at Auda FK in Latvia, scoring five goals and one assist in 39 matches, lifting the Latvian Cup and playing in the Conference League.

Born in Santa Cruz de La Sierra, the striker is 22. He joined Santos after a 2018 friendly against the under-15s while with Project Bolivia 2022 alongside Miguelito, signed professionally in May 2022, and later recorded 35 goals in 76 games for the club’s under-20s before heading out on loan.
