Thierry Correia and Eray Cömert left Valencia when their contracts expired on 30 June. Correia said his goodbyes on social media, Cömert has stayed silent.

According to AS, the centre-back is with Switzerland at the World Cup and faces Colombia in the last 16 on Tuesday. He has yet to play but remains one of the 26.

He became a free agent on 30 June, and Valencia earned about €300,000 from FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme, €9,321 per day while he is at the World Cup, but nothing after that date.

Cömert joined from Basel in January 2022 on a deal to 2026, but never fully settled. Loans to Nantes and Valladolid preceded his return last summer, when injuries to Mouctar Diakhaby and Copete gave him minutes, his form acceptable yet no extension was pursued.

He also courted controversy. After winning the derby at the Ciutat de València, he placed his shirt on the corner flag and waved it with his supporters, angering Levante fans.

Departures are often marked by farewell posts. Valencia have not publicly farewelled any leavers, though Thierry, Ramazani and Lucas Beltrán have thanked the club and fans on social media.

Cömert is seeking a new club while focusing on Switzerland’s campaign. In Valencia, his chapter appears closed, and neither side has offered a public goodbye.
