PSV Eindhoven extended their lead at the top of the Eredivisie with a 2-1 away win over rivals AZ Alkmaar.
Luuk de Jong and Noa Lang put the visitors two goals ahead after 21 minutes, although Denso Kasius’ late goal made for a nervy finish to the encounter. Peter Bosz‘ side are now eight points ahead of second-placed FC Utrecht, who have two games in hand.
Arne Slot’s former club Feyenoord picked up the biggest win of the weekend, thrashing Go Ahead Eagles 5-1 away. All five goals were scored by five different players, with Brighton loanee Ibrahim Osman netting the opener.
FC Twente missed an opportunity to move into the top four after drawing with bottom side RKC Waalwijk, who earned their first point of the campaign. It took a stoppage time equaliser from Carel Eiting to ensure the Enschede outfit avoided an embarrassing defeat.
Meanwhile here was more woe for former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie. SC Heerenveen, the team he manages, were comfortably beaten 3-0 by NEC Nijmegen, leaving them hovering above the automatic relegation spots.
