It has been a miserable couple of months for AS Monaco, who reached a new low on Tuesday night at the Bernabéu. The Principality club were defeated 6-1 by Real Madrid in what is their heaviest defeat in a European game. That came just days after a 3-1 defeat at home to FC Lorient, Les Monégasques’ seventh loss in their last eight Ligue 1 games.

Eric Dier reacted to the loss in a mixed zone interview attended by Get French Football News. “You can’t truly explain the game now. You have to try to digest it and understand what has gone wrong. If you lose like this, many things are not right,” began the former Tottenham Hotspur man.

He continued, “I definitely don’t feel sorry for myself or for anyone. The most important thing is for everyone to look at themselves.” Monaco next face Le Havre AC on Wednesday.
