During Manchester City’s 5-4 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, Manchester City’s number-nine became the fastest player to score 100 goals in Premier League history. Haaland eclipsed Alan Shearer’s record of scoring 100 goals in 124 Premier League games by scoring his 100th goal in his 111th Premier League match. The scary part for Manchester City’s opponents is that there is still plenty more to come from the world’s best striker.

Erling Haaland has raised the bar for goalscoring and there is no other way to put it.

By eclipsing Alan Shearer’s record and becoming the fastest player to score 100 goals in Premier League history, Erling Haaland continues to raise the bar in terms of goalscoring. Haaland scores goals for Manchester City at a rapid rate, in fact he is plundering goals for City at a rate that hasn’t been seen before. His 100th goal in the Premier League is a testament to this fact. The longer Haaland keeps playing at City and scoring goals there are more records that are likely to fall to the Norwegian international.

Pep Guardiola said it best when he spoke about Erling Haaland scoring his 100th goal in the Premier League against Fulham. The Manchester City manager said that Haaland’s goalscoring numbers are insane. Pep Guardiola explained: “When I arrived if you told me that in 111 games, he scored 100 goals, I’d say, ‘Are you sure?’ In this league? But he did it. The numbers are insane. Insane.”

Pep Guardiola also said that Haaland is one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history. He also added that there is still more to come from the Norwegian international: “For sure he’s one of the best Premier League strikers of all time.”

“For the strikers, it’s a question of numbers and his numbers have no discussions.”

The scary part for Manchester City’s rivals is that there is still plenty more to come from Erling Haaland. He is at 100 goals and counting in the Premier League and Haaland has just entered the prime years of his career. There is no telling how many more goals the Norwegian international will score for Manchester City. That fact stands out especially when you consider how many goals Haaland scores and how many chances he spurns at times. Haaland scored one goal against Fulham and hit the post twice. There is a time coming when Haaland will put away the majority of his chances and when that occurs the goals will come at an even more rapid rate for the world’s best striker.

Erling Haaland has now scored 100 goals in the Premier League. He joined elite company with his 100th Premier League club. Haaland’s 100th Premier League goal was a special moment and it does feel like there is a lot more to come from Haaland at Manchester City and in the Premier League and every other competition City play in.
