Erling Haaland handed Manchester City an injury scare after limping off during Norway’s 2-1 Nations League defeat to Portugal on Sunday.
According to Goal.com, the striker signalled to the bench early in the second half and, after hobbling for several minutes, was replaced in the 67th minute by Jorgen Strand Larsen. He walked off unaided, sharing a smile and an embrace with his replacement before sitting down.
Norway had led in Lisbon when Kristoffer Ajer volleyed in on 36 minutes. Joao Cancelo equalised two minutes later, before Goncalo Ramos stabbed home a 79th-minute winner. The defeat was their third in a row and left Stale Solbakken’s side bottom of Group A4.
City visit Liverpool on Sunday, then host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Enzo Maresca faces a nervous wait on a forward who has seven goals this season. If tests confirm a serious muscular problem, City could be without him for both games.
