Back in Norway after a World Cup quarter-final exit, Erling Haaland was pictured carrying a stuffed raccoon with an empty bottle and seeking a name for it.

TV2 reports that he bought it at Wild Bill's Western Store in Dallas for $750, about €659.

He asked followers to suggest a name, with options including Cowboy, Ranger, TEX and R.O.W., short for 'Raccoon on wheels'.

He also joked that it had followed him home.

Haaland ended the 2026 finals with seven goals. The souvenir may end up on his mantelpiece, perhaps with a Ballon d'Or to come.
