Erling Haaland says he has not scored enough goals for Manchester City this season – but is optimistic his side can catch league leaders Arsenal and win another Premier League title.

Haaland scored the winner from the penalty spot against Liverpool on Sunday as City came from behind to win at Anfield.

The victory put City back to six points behind Arsenal and Haaland says there is still a long way to go.

“We’ve seen before that the title race is not over until it’s over,” he said.

“I need to recover, eat some good food and focus on Fulham because there’s still many games.”

Haaland has scored 21 goals in 25 league games this season, but has netted only twice in his last eight games in the league.

“I haven’t scored enough goals since the start of this year and I know that I need to improve,” Haaland said. “I know I need to be more sharp, better at all of this and this is something that I have to work on. I have to keep going because this is what everyone deserves and expects.

“I don’t want to speak about why I haven’t performed. I don’t think there’s any excuse. Fatigue is a lot in the head. It is a lot of games. Look at the schedule: it’s not easy. For me, it’s about staying fit, don’t get injured. That’s the most important thing. And try to be ready to help the team.”
