According to Sky Sports News, Ernest Nuamah (21) now looks set to stay at Lyon at least until the end of the season as Everton considers other attacking reinforcements.

The Ghanaian attacker was identified as a priority target for the Toffees in the winter transfer window after previously showing interest during the summer window, but a move now looks unlikely. OL are required to sell players as they bid to avoid relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the season by improving their financial situation through player sales in the January transfer window.

Nuamah was high on the list of sellable assets at the Groupama stadium as Les Gones looked to raise funds. However, following the sale of Luis Henrique from Botafogo to Zenit, the emphasis to sell the 21-year-old has reduced, with Lyon holding the rights of the Brazilian, meaning the €33m sale has strengthened the Ligue 1 club’s financial position.
