Feyenoord have triggered the €5 million release clause of 23-year-old Tjark Ernst, leaving Hertha BSC seeking a new goalkeeper.

Sky Germany and Sport BILD report that Ernst is headed to last season’s Eredivisie runners-up, who will play in the Champions League next season.

The promising keeper is already preparing for the move and will not take part in Hertha’s training today.

Wolfsburg, who also chased Ernst, will be watching developments. They are interested in Feyenoord captain Timon Wellenreuther, who could be sold.

Hertha must now find a replacement, with Fortuna Düsseldorf’s Florian Kastenmeier said to be top of their list.

Kastenmeier was relegated to the 3. Liga with Düsseldorf last season and would be available on a free transfer.
