Good news for Espérance de Tunis fans: Youcef Belaïli is officially back in team training. The Algerian international, who suffered a muscle injury during the match against Somalia on October 9 with the Fennecs in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, had to leave the squad on the decision of Vladimir Petkovic, just like Baghdad Bounedjah.

This setback also kept the former MCA player out of the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round, which his team won away at Rahimo FC (1-0). Now fully recovered, Belaïli took part in the team session on Monday morning at the "Bab Souika" training center and is in contention for a spot in the squad for the return leg scheduled for next Friday in Tunis.

A major boost for Espérance, who will count on the experience and creativity of their playmaker to book a place in the group stage. Expected to be one of the key figures at the start of the season, Belaïli could well transform the attacking dynamics of the Blood and Gold from the moment he steps back onto the pitch.
