AS’s player ratings sketched a mixed night as Espanyol head for holidays. Roberto redeemed a glaring miss after an earlier Oskarsson burst had cut them open.

Oskarsson struck after a lightning move, leaving Fortuño helpless. The keeper mixed hesitant moments with solid stops and is not ready to challenge Dmitrovic. Rubén then cleared off the line to prevent 0-2.

Cabrera lost Oskarsson for the goal but dominated in the air. Calero bowed out after seven seasons with a composed display. Romero, who will leave this summer, has been their best player and a modern full-back.

Urko had a quiet night and lacked edge. Expósito drove transitions, even more vital without Pol Lozano. Terrats underwhelmed, withdrawn at half-time as the team improved, a neat summary of his campaign and possibly his last minutes.

Pere Milla produced a Bergkamp-like touch in the move for Espanyol’s goal, immediately had a clear chance and changed the tempo. Dolan was central to the uptick, had a finish ruled out for a very strict earlier foul by Jofre, and perhaps overdid it.

Jofre attacked space and got shots away but lacked polish. Antoniu offered little beyond glimpses and was short of the level required to start in a top-flight side. Roberto spurned a sitter then scored his seventh of the season and asked the fans’ forgiveness.

Lluc Castell became the first and only B-team player to debut in the league this season. Kike Garcia had no impact.
