Salernitana sporting director Morgan de Sanctis has successfully negotiated the loan deal of Tonny Vilhena from La Liga side Espanyol and the player has medicals scheduled for tomorrow.
According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, the Dutch midfielder arrives from Espanyol for a €3 million loan deal with Salernitana having the right to buy for a reported amount of €3.5 million at the end of his loan spell.
Vilhena will undergo his scheduled medical examination tomorrow before signing his new contract with the Italian side, details of which are undisclosed.
The 27-year-old midfielder comes with a reputation of 20 Champions League appearances from the group and preliminary stage games combined along with 22 UEFA Europa League appearances. Vilhena is a product of Feyenoord academy and belongs to the batch of Memphis Depay and Nathan Ake graduating from the youth ranks.
The addition of the Dutch midfielder to the present Salernitana side is a clear indication from their board in the quest of staying in the top flight comfortably without going into a rigorous competition.
