Brazilian winger stretchered off before continental showdown

Esperance Tunis were dealt injury setback after winger Yan Sasse was forced off before CAF Champions League tie against Al Ahly.
Espérance de Tunis have received worrying news ahead of their CAF Champions League quarter-final against Al Ahly, after Brazilian attacker Yan Sasse suffered serious injury in domestic action.
The incident occurred during Esperance’s league match against Stade Tunisien when Sasse went down injured and had to leave the pitch on stretcher.
The winger was substituted in the 44 minute of first half forcing early change for the technical staff.
Despite the setback, Esperance managed to secure 1-0 victory but the focus quickly shifted to Sasse’s condition.
The extent of the injury has not yet been confirmed, with further medical tests expected to determine how long he could be sidelined.
Sasse has been important attacking option for the Tunisian champions this season and his potential absence would be blow as the club prepares for crucial continental fixture.
Esperance are set to face Al Ahly in CAF Champions League quarter-finals following the official draw.
The first leg will be played in Rades on one of 13, 14, or 15 March while the return leg is scheduled in Cairo on one of 20, 21, or 22 March.
