The countdown is almost over. The FIFA World Cup 2026 is almost 24 hours away from arriving at Estadio Guadalajara, which will become the epicenter of the world's biggest football festival.

Don Jorge Vergara's dream (RIP) of turning the Rojiblanca Fortress into a World Cup venue has now become reality. Beyond the fact that the Home of Mexicans was originally designed with that goal in mind, Mexico's finest stadium has continued to evolve to meet the demands of a tournament of this magnitude. Join us, Chivahermano, as we walk you through all the upgrades Estadio Guadalajara has received ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026—enhancements that you'll also be able to enjoy when the Rebaño Sagrado returns home.

World-Class Pitch

The Estadio Guadalajara playing surface has become a benchmark in Liga MX in recent tournaments and now carries the prestigious FIFA Quality Pro certification. This is complemented by an innovative drainage system, carefully designed to ensure that not even the heaviest rainfall can stop the football celebration.

In addition, Chivas' home will showcase its new hybrid turf, installed on schedule and in optimal condition for the match between South Korea and Czechia.

Cardioprotected Stadium

The safety of everyone attending the Home of Mexicans is a top priority ahead of this major event. For that reason, the Rojiblanca Fortress has been recognized as a Cardioprotected Space by the Emergency Medical Care System (SAMU) of the Government of Jalisco.

This distinction certifies that the venue complies with the guidelines established by the General Health Law of the State of Jalisco, including the installation of semi-automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in high-capacity areas and staff training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques.

Enhanced Visual Experience

Throughout recent months, Estadio Guadalajara's visual technology has taken a significant leap forward. The giant screens located behind each goal have been expanded and equipped with high-definition LED technology featuring greater brightness.

But that's not all. The screens located in the atrium, suites, restrooms, and other areas have also been upgraded, alongside the modernization of the electronic advertising boards surrounding the pitch.

Immersive Audio System

A world-class visual experience deserved an equally impressive sound system, and Estadio Guadalajara rose to the challenge. The stadium's audio system has been completely renovated to deliver greater clarity, power, and an immersive experience that connects every fan with the emotion of the spectacle.

Brand-New Hospitality Areas

Among the most striking upgrades at Estadio Guadalajara are the new hospitality zones located on both sides of the stands. These immersive spaces offer privileged views of the pitch, exclusive catering, food stations, private and accessible restrooms, as well as a design inspired by Guadalajara's cultural heritage and a premium experience before, during, and after every match.

Sustainable Lighting

Club Deportivo Guadalajara remains firmly committed to sustainability. As a result, the traditional lighting system at Estadio Guadalajara has been completely replaced with energy-efficient LED technology. This has been complemented by the implementation of SGL technology for the sustainable maintenance of the playing surface.

Creation of a Sensory Room

The Home of Mexicans is an inclusive space. From now on, neurodivergent individuals and those with sensory processing disorders will have access to an area designed specifically for their needs.

The new Sensory Room will provide a calm, safe, and accessible environment with reduced stimuli, allowing its users to fully enjoy the passion generated by the FIFA World Cup 2026. It will be the first room of its kind in a Mexican stadium, reaffirming Club Guadalajara's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
