Ethan Ampadu named in Team of the Week after Leeds’ 1-0 win

Leeds United’s 1-0 victory over Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday was capped by Ethan Ampadu’s inclusion in the Team of the Week, selected by Troy Deeney for BBC Sport.

Leeds lost Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach to injury 24 hours before kick-off.

Daniel Farke’s side dominated after the interval, with missed chances and bold changes eventually rewarded. Substitute Lukas Nmecha converted Ampadu’s inviting cross late on, prodding beyond Bernd Leno to seal it.

Farke welcomed the clean sheet and viewed the result as among their best of the season in the circumstances.

Deeney praised Ampadu’s all-round display, noting the assist but stressing his tackles and recovery runs as decisive. His XI also included Robert Sanchez, Alex Jimenez, Harry Maguire, James Tarkowski and Lewis Hall.
