Tijjani Reijnders, John Stones and Erling Haaland are the three contenders vying for the first POTM award of the new campaign.

All have made compelling cases across August's action but who gets your individual vote?

Tijjani Reijnders

Having spoken of his excitement about experiencing the Premier League for the first time, our summer signing from AC Milan wasted no time in demonstrating his class and quality in our league opener at Wolves.

On what was his Premier League debut, the Dutch international produced a veritable midfield masterclass at Molineux.

Reijnders was at his explosive and creative best, showcasing his box-to-box prowess, fine technique and eye for a pass.

Tijjani then capped off a display to remember by both registering a superb goal of his own before creating a sublime assist for Erling Haaland to round off a stellar Premier League debut.

Having then followed that up with solid displays at home to Spurs and away at Brighton, his impact across August offered an exciting window into what Reijnders will bring to the Blues' engine room looking to the long term.

John Stones

After being sidelined through injury for much of the second half of the last campaign, a fit and rejuvenated John Stones was back in the starting line-up for all three of City’s league games across August.

And the England international centre half instantly got back in the old routine at the heart of the Blues’ back line.

City’s opening day win at Wolves saw Stones marry his customary astute reading of the game and superb defensive technique alongside his trademark elegant composure on the ball.

The 31-year-old also figured for the full 90 minutes in our two other August fixtures at home to Spurs and away to Brighton.

And though both matches ended in frustrating defeats, the sight of a fully fit Stones only augurs what will be another busy and demanding campaign.

Erling Haaland

Our Norwegian master marksman has made a typically impressive start to the new campaign.

Haaland it was who registered our first goal of the new Premier League in City’s opening fixture away at Wolves.

In what was a fine all-round display at Molineux, Erling then grabbed a second too as he maintained his habit of scoring on every opening day of the season since his move to City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

His efforts helped City record a dominant 4-0 victory in the West Midlands.

Erling then followed that up by finding the target again in last Sunday’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Though Pep Guardiola’s side lost out 2-1 at the AMEX Stadium, Haaland’s goal was a fitting way to mark his 100th Premier League appearance and took his league tally of goals since joining City to an incredible 88.

No player has scored more in their first 100 PL appearances – another remarkable individual record for Haaland.
