Etta Eyong ended his drought with an early strike for Cameroon against China in Melbourne, a timely lift for Levante’s survival fight. According to Superdeporte, Levante rejected a 25 million euros MLS bid late in the winter window, standing firm on his 30 million clause and expecting him to be decisive under Luís Castro.
Eyong scored after three minutes at AAMI Park in the FIFA Series 2026, running on to a pass inside the area and prodding in. It was a friendly with limited consequence, but a clear boost to his confidence.
He arrived at the Ciutat de València as a survival pillar after a startling breakthrough, yet that spark has faded. With nine LaLiga matches left, he still has time to reassert himself in Levante’s run-in. Transfermarkt’s latest update drops his valuation from 20 to 18 million.
From mid-February he went seven games without a start, including remaining on the bench against Oviedo. He has not scored for Levante since 26 October, although he did net for Cameroon against Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
If the current trend continues, offers on the MLS scale may prove unlikely. Beyond the Premier League, Saudi Arabia could match Orriols’ demands, but the Middle East conflict has left many operations on standby amid uncertainty.
While Eyong slipped to a secondary role, Carlos Espí was named LaLiga’s March player of the month, scoring six in four, one supplied by the number 21 and celebrated by pointing to him. Eyong returns to Orriols knowing he must step up to aid survival and protect his market appeal. The club hopes he regains value, though it would settle for performances that secure a vital Primera División stay.
