Eupen have announced that Raphaël Fèvre and Kristoffer Andersen will jointly manage the side for the rest of the season. Fèvre has returned to the club where he was head physical trainer under Claude Makélélé in 2019, before spells with Chicago Fire, Bordeaux and the Cameroonian national team. Andersen has been with the club as an assistant coach for a couple of years. This duo is now tasked with keeping the side in the league.
Both take over from former Werder Bremen head coach Florian Kohfeldt, who decided to leave the club at the end of the regular season after a 4-0 defeat to Standard Liege. This certainly came as a surprise to the club, who from their statement made it clear they had hoped that Kohfeldt would remain in charge of the club for the play-offs.
Eupen will begin the relegation dog fight in second place, five points behind Charleroi and a position of safety. However, they are also level on points with Kortrijk, who are the only side in the bottom four to have the same head coach for the play-offs as they ended the regular season.
