Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Eupen are looking to sign free agent striker Sebastian Andersson. The Pandas are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements having lost Smail Prevljak on a free this summer. The Bosnian forward has since joined Hertha Berlin in Bundesliga 2. Eupen had gone shopping in Germany for his replacement, signing 21-year-old Polish forward Bartosz Bialek on loan from Wolfsburg. Unfortunately, Bialek is injured and likely to be out for a number of months.
Andersson is currently out of contract having left FC Köln in the summer after three seasons with the side. The forward was prolific in his native Sweden with a number of clubs before moving to Germany to sign for FC Kaiserslautern in 2017. The now 32-year-old would only spend one season there, scoring 12 goals in 30 games before moving to Union Berlin. During his time with Union Berlin, Andersson scored 26 goals in 74 games before moving on to join Köln. After just eight goals in 47 appearances for the Bundesliga side, his contract was not renewed.
Eupen have had a mixed start to the season, beating Genk but then losing 6-0 at home to Club Brugge.
