Europa League: Terem Moffi and Evan Ndicka on target in Nice vs Roma showdown
Terem Moffi and Evan Ndicka both found the back of the net on Tuesday night during the Nice-Roma clash at the Allianz Riviera. The Nigerian striker pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 77th minute, while the Ivorian defender had opened the scoring for Roma in the 52nd minute.
Evan Ndicka gave Roma the lead right after the break. From a perfectly curled corner by Lorenzo Pellegrini, the Ivorian centre-back darted to the near post to nod home a winning header just inside Diouf’s upright in the 52nd minute.
Gianluca Mancini doubled the advantage three minutes later after a superb team move. Following a build-up from their own half, El Aynaoui released Tsimikas down the left flank. The Greek full-back whipped in a cross that Mancini, surging up from defence, met with the tip of his right boot for an unstoppable goal.
Terem Moffi reignited hope for Les Aiglons by converting a penalty in the 77th minute. The Nigerian international stepped up, paused briefly, then smashed a crisp left-footed strike into the bottom corner past Mile Svilar, who had guessed the right way. Roma kick off their Europa League campaign in style with this away victory.
